Sunday 26th of August, 7am SLT
SLIFF Clubhouse, Skagway
That only 3 racers showed up this morning, didn't surprise me much. With the launch of the New Star Class boat all eyes are focused on that new revelation, but it won't be long before many will return to the finesse and the gentle touch of the Bandit IF racing. So our racers had the benefit of a more lag free 3 course regatta.
Despite SL acting weird lately, we could enjoy some close racing.
Below are today's results:

a very close start of Fanny and Justin, as they were heading to soon for the line and had to veer off at the last moment, as not to cross the line early. Moon saw his chance and kept close to both. With justin making a rather late turn inwards the island, Moon got into second position and didn't let go of Fanny anymore.

2: SteveLL Resident IDBS7263 -- 00:23:54

Did I tell you SL is acting weird? After a great start, Fanny had to abandon the race as her boat didn't act as it should have. Her dials at only half the light intensity as normal, and at a certain moment even her jib sail was pointing the other way then her main sail on a close haul course.
Justin got delayed when right before Fanny crashed, she didn't give enough room for him to tack before an obstacle.
Third course: SLIFF-13 (3 rounds)
1: FannyVermont Resident IDBSE5D4 -- 00:19:01
2: moonglownight Resident IDBSBF2E -- 00:19:46
3: SteveLL Resident IDBS7263 -- 00:21:17

moonglownight Resident IDBSBF2E -- Start: 00:00:05 -- Lap 1: 00:06:26 -- Lap 2: 00:06:35 -- Last lap: 00:06:40

Both Fanny and Moon rezzed a fresh boat prior to the start of this final run, just in case. Moon did everything in his power to keep close to Fanny, and it was only in the final round that Fanny could create enough water between them to have an easy sail towards the finish.
and the math was quickly done:
SLIFF-03 SLIFF-07 SLIFF-13 totals
Moon 2 1 2 3
Fanny 1 4 1 2
Justin 3 2 3 5
So WELL DONE to all of today's racers and winners! It was again a joy to watch. And well done to Fanny for taking the gold today.
Join us next Sunday at 7 am at SLIFF for some more awesome racing !
